Spam is annoying. Spam filters reduce the amount of noise we see in our inboxes. The only problem is that sometimes the wrong stuff gets filtered out. If you’re looking for a new position, have your resume posted, or are sending it out to people…chances are, buried amongst the 100′s of messages in your junk mail folder there very well may be a message from someone that you don’t know…that you REALLY wish you had received. Especially if it’s from your friendly neighborhood recruiter. And it’s not just recruiters. Friends, family, updates from people who have changed their email adddresses.
So in addition to updating your resume, checking voicemails and email…better add “check the junk mail folder” to your list of daily duties.
